Land Title Registration for Konikablo South Project Area Completed

Following the signing of the land lease agreement and the recent cadastral survey of the southern part of the Konikablo project area, Upwind managed to successfully complete the title registration process of the respective lease and was awarded with the title certificate for more than 5,000 acres of land at Konikablo South.

The title certificate provides finality and security in terms of adverse claims and reduces the risk of litigations and therewith represents and important milestone in the permitting procedure of the Konikablo Wind Farm. With the issuance of the land title for Konikablo South in July 2022, the whole Konikablo area has secured more than 7,000 acres of land in favour of Upwind Konikablo Ltd., the project company owning all project rights. It will allow to install more than 250 MW of capacity, depending however of the finally chosen turbine size and type.

It is scheduled that the Konikablo wind farm will start construction in early 2024. It will generate more than 650 GWh of clean and cheap electricity for the population in Ghana.
