ENERCON GmbH and NEK Sign Investment Agreement for the 200 MW Konikablo Wind Farm in Ghana

Our holding company Upwind International AG has recently signed an agreement with the German company Enercon GmbH for the take-over of the wind energy project Konikablo in Ghana.

The wind energy project Konikablo has a planned installed capacity of around 200 MW and represents the second wind energy project in Ghana, which is being developed by us. The wind farm has been in planning by us for a couple of years now and is located exactly east of our first Ghana Project, the Ayitepa Wind Farm.

Enercon is the biggest German wind turbine manufacturer and has installed more than 28’000 wind turbines with a total capacity of around 50 GW worldwide.

The project schedule foresees that the Konikablo Wind Farm will be fully developed up to the year 2022 so that it can be constructed subsequently and connected to the grid in the middle of 2023.
